Ooze & AahsOoze & Aahs is an educational STEM module for children that explores the eco systems in our own backyards. The main character in the module interacts with a variety of insects and slimes, and is presented challenges to solve. My contributions to this project were helping to develop the direction and narrative of the 5 video series, creating supplemental videos, filming, creating artwork, VFX, and animating the videos.
Illustration Style
When we were designing this module, I presented a couple options to the education team writing the module. The writers didn’t know what direction they wanted to take the module in, and were concerned about writing a module with a high focus on bugs. The main concern being that the kids would be too grossed out to be interested. We addressed this by offering an option that was highly detailed, texture-forward, beautiful, and more realistic looking, and a second option that was cartoon-like, bright, and approachable. Ultimately, the writers decided to go with the first option.
